Just a reminder that we have started our summer hours and will be closed on Sundays.  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 10 - 5:30, and Wednesday 11-7.  Look forward to seeing you!

Moving Day is Upon Us

December 5, 2011

Today is the last day in our Commercial Street location.  It is with both sadness and hope that we leave our beloved little boutique.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank Rick Hyne of Crankshaw Holdings for being the best landlord two rookie business owners could have ever asked for.  We are so grateful for all of your patience and assistance over the last two years.

We are really excited to see all of you at our new location starting Thursday, December 8, 2011.  Shop hours will remain the same.

The Transition has Begun!!!

We have started our move over to our new location!! We still have all our Bridal and prom dresses its just not as pretty as it used to be. Thank you all for you patience during this process.

Moving date pushed back to December 8th

We have pushed back our moving day by one week! Our renovations are taking a little longer then anticipated. We look forward to seeing you all in our new improved location. Meanwhile back at our Commercial st location the sales are on with the move upon us. We have a full rack of color dresses on sale 20-60% off selected prom, cocktail and bridesmaid dresses. Come on in soon for the best selection!!!

It’s Official….Bliss is on the move!!

We are so excited to announce that Bliss Gowns & Events is expanding and is on the move.  Effective December 8, 2011 we will be located at 208 Wallace Street, Nanaimo, BC.  This is the old Kool n’ Child building at the corner of Wentworth and Wallace St.  We will have a street level entrance, more accessible parking (Yay!), windows and best of all……no more STAIRS!!!

Even more exciting is the announcement that we are partnering with the amazing team of Brenda Dyck and Tamara Coburn of Have Your Cake and Eat It Too.  Together we will be opening a cafe on one side of the building complete with cake, cheesecake, pastries and beverages and the bridal store will be on the other side of the space.  We hope to implement a full service wedding cafe where you can come in peruse some wedding planning reference material and enjoy a great cup of coffee and a wonderful sweet piece of cake!!  We will also start hosting wedding planning seminars in the New Year.

Such exciting times for all of us.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful clients who have been supportive and loyal to us over the past two years.  We have been blessed to have been involved with so many wonderful people.  Thank you again and we look forward to seeing everyone at the new space.

Winter Hours

Bliss will be switching to our winter hours as of October 11, 2011.  Our hours will be as follows:             

                     Monday             10:00-5:30

                     Tuesday            10:00-5:30

                     Wednesday        11:00-7:00

                     Thursday           10:00-5:30

                     Friday               10:00-5:30

                     Saturday           10:00-5:30

                     Sunday             11:00-4:00

With so many brides starting to look for their perfect dress, we strongly recommend booking an appointment especially on the weekends.  Please call us at 250-591-0550 to set up your time.  Weekend appointments are restricted to four people in a party as our space does not permit large parties.  If you have a large party, we would be more than happy to accomodate you during the week.  We are open until 7:00 pm on Wednesday evenings.

San Patrick Gowns have arrived!

Exciting news for summer brides, the San Patrick Collection by Pronovias has arrived!!  These gowns are nothing short of spectacular and have very reasonable price points for couture gowns.  At Bliss we are proud to offer gowns by Maggie Sottero Destination, Private Label, Jasmine, Ella Rosa, Mikaella by Paloma Blanca, Venus and many others!!  Order time for summer dresses is starting to close in, so make sure you book your appointment soon!!

Speaking of appointments, as we have gotten quite a bit busier we have to limit our Saturday and Sunday appointments to 90 minutes with a maximum of three attendants.  If you need more time or would like to bring more people with you, please don’t hesitate to book your appointment during the week.  If need be, will can stay open a little later, we just need some extra notice to book our staff!!
